Björklunden Concert Draws A Crowd

Björklunden’s inaugural Community Concert by the Lake drew about 160 people on July 31.

Guests gathered on the lawn facing Björklunden’s Boynton Chapel for a performance by local singer-songwriter Zephyr Ciesar. Ciesar performed covers and tracks from her new EP, Little Green.

The concert series is designed to introduce people to Björklunden and raise awareness for some of its initiatives, which include fundraising for a new roof for the chapel, built 1939-1947.

Ciesar has performed at many venues around the county, both as a soloist and the lead vocalist of rock band Bacchus Lotus. In an interview for a 2022 Door County Living story, bandmate Charlie Eckhardt said of Ciesar, “Zephyr brings to the stage this positive energy. That energy shows in the way she performs and in the way that she interacts with the musicians on the stage, and it’s contagious.”

Zephyr Releases “Little Green”

Vocalist, songwriter and performer Zephyr Ciesar released her debut EP “Little Green” on June 20.

The EP is a compilation of five courses strung together, which are heavily influenced by her coming-of-age years in New York when she was navigating the grind of auditions and survival. It’s also influenced by her more recent time back in her Door County childhood home, finding poetry and meaning in the green hills and bluffs.

The songs were recorded with Grammy-nominated musician and producer Hans Christian at his Studio 330 in Sturgeon Bay.

The EP can be found on all streaming platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify.

Bacchus Lotus: A Night of Classic Rock

Read the Full Article Here: https://www.wisconsinentertainer.com/discovering-bacchus-lotus-at-riverside-tavern-a-night-of-classic-rock-and-unforgettable-performances/

Friday night rolled around, and I found myself heading to Riverside Tavern in Appleton. I had heard about a band called Bacchus Lotus playing on the patio, and curiosity got the better of me. As I walked up, I could hear classic rock tunes filling the air and saw a crowd already rocking out.

I ran into a few friends who told me this band has been around for a long time, and you could tell. They were polished, passionate, and clearly loved what they do.

The lead singer was particularly impressive—a powerhouse of talent who brought incredible energy to the stage.

Her voice was fantastic, and she didn't just sing; she put on a show. At one point, she even did the splits! It was so much fun to watch.

The band as a whole was equally impressive. With multiple singers and a tight, cohesive sound, Bacchus Lotus delivered a performance that was both entertaining and musically excellent. If you haven't seen them yet, put this band on your must-see list. They know how to rock and make sure everyone has a great time.

Check out the photos and videos to get a taste of this amazing night. You won't be disappointed!”
